Alterations, Mending and Repairs – Sustainable Clothing with Lynne Johnson
Dates: 21 & 28 April, 5, 12, 19 & 26 May
Time: 1 – 3.30pm
Cost: $350
We all have a pile of mending and a favourite garment that needs some repairs, but often we don’t know how do it and the pile gets larger. It could be a dress that is too long, or a favourite pair of pants that no longer fit.
You can do most tasks yourself with a little sewing knowledge and also save money! In this class you can learn to hem pants, jeans, skirts, adjust shirt and dress hems, sew on buttons or replace a zipper. Perhaps you have garments that need some changes or repairs. Machine and hand sewing finishes will be taught.
If so join us for this course where you will learn these techniques, plus more.
After this course, you will leave with a feeling of accomplishment. You’ll take home skills so that if you want something repaired, or altered, you can confidently do so without spending money or going to any store.
